Luis Buñuel has just released “L’Age d’Or”, a film that causes a scandal and bankrupts him. But after a friend wins the lottery, the great surrealist can get started on his next project: “Las Hurdes”, a documentary about the poorest regions of Spain. The project proves to be a tough test for their friendship.
