Animation goes Multimedia

Modern Polaxis

Fantoche has always set about building bridges with related artforms and animation applications in other communication and entertainment media. For some years now, Fantoche has successfully shed light upon the crossover between animation and game design and reflected upon this with its own special themes. ‘Animation goes Multimedia’ is now set to become a fixed part of the Festival at Fantoche 2014, which regularly promotes inter-disciplinary exchange with exhibitions, film programmes or industry events, creating a window at a Swiss festival for a youthful, refreshing creative scene.

Anyone who wishes to find out what the new areas of development in animation are should view the exhibition and panel entitled ‘Interactive Spaces in Animation’. It looks at animation, which is becoming interactive and will take place at the DoK Galerie and in spaces around the city.

With GIF is for Geeks’, Fantoche will be putting together its own programme of GIF animations for the first time. Set to live electronic music from Bit-Tuner, a new audio-visual interaction will take shape on the screen.

Anyone can give it a try themselves at the weekend. Experts will be on hand to show people how to create their own GIFs on their smartphones. The GIFs will be on display at the Animated Royal GIF Bar.
