Urban Game: X-Giranimation

The bizarre history of this urban game starts with a special technique to manipulate animation-machines called “X-Giranimation”: With this technique, giraffes can be extracted from animation films. It is due to the obsessed scientist Madame G. that sixteen giraffes are gallopping around Baden right now.

In the game “X-Giranimation”, the goal is to catch all the giraffes and bring them back into their digital homes. The GIFs for the game come from sixteen students of Game Design at the art school of Zurich (ZHdK) and animation at the University of Lucerne (HSLU).

“X-Giranimation” can be played at a stretch (ca. 90 minutes) or bit by bit. Project managers Mela Kocher and Markus Rossé will take visitors on a guided tour on the following dates:
Wednesday, 02.03., 16:30 (Mela Kocher)
Saturday, 05.09., 15:00 (Markus Rossé)
