LÖSS

In the rocky landscape of the Löss plateau, a woman is sold to a farmer for a sack of potatoes. The bleak existence of the pair leads the farmer to alcohol and violence. The stripped down, gradual storytelling style of the film renders the spiritual hardship of the woman and her oppressive life in the small cabin almost physically tangible.
