Léo Soesanto

Léo Soesanto is a Paris-based programmer and film journalist, who graduated at Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris, and is currently the programme curator for the short film competitions at Riga International Film Festival. He was previously the programming director at the Festival International du Film Indépendant de Bordeaux (2012–2018), a programmer at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (2016–2020), as well as part of the selection committee for features (2009–2015) and head of the short film selection at Cannes’ Critics Week (2017–2021). Léo has curated several programmes dedicated to Olivier Assayas, Jonathan Caouette, punk cinema, TV series and Asian diasporas in film. Among his publications are his book “L’aéroport mis en scènes” (“The Staged Airport”) as well as numerous texts, published for instance in the catalogue of the Cinémathèque Française.
