This fictionalised film portrait of a grandfather pays tribute to the hundreds of thousands Italian immigrants who left their homeland in hope of a better future. Two-time César-winning director Alain Ughetto may have drawn inspiration from his work as a news reporter and documentary filmmaker when creating this stop-motion animation about the average man fighting war and fascism.
