Snow Hut (Kamakura), Yoriko Mizushiri, JP 2013, 5’22“

White on white, the igloo stands in the paddy field, but the spring awakening is just around the corner. Amorphous and human shapes rise up and intermingle, a needle pricks and the green of a plant sprouts forth. With clear, clean lines, «Kamakura» elicits conflicting feelings – a prickling such as after a pinprick. Or just before a kiss.

Jury laudation: ”Snow Hut is a hypnotic exploration into a sensual world. The marriage between sound, vision and motion draws you in and compels you to perceive time and space on it’s terms.”
