Special Mention International

Timber, Nils Hedinger, CH 2014, 5’35“

It’s night-time, it’s cold, and a group of logs is freezing. When the realisation dawns that only they themselves are available as combustion material, the situation gets serious. This Swiss debut work uses the conventions of the disaster film to tell the story of a struggle for survival with a twinkle in its wooden eye.

Jury laudation: ”In a simple and symbolic way, Timber tells us about society and human nature. ”
