«Er kam, sah und quakte»

“He came, he saw and he quacked”
Peter Krause got the idea for a show on Donald Duck about ten years ago. He had already developed a special relationship to Donald in 1988, when Disney hired him and his German voice for this famous cartoon character. During his solo programme, Peter Krause converses with the audience in a mixture of High German and Duck German – and asks quite serious questions, including how the classic Donald Duck films from the 1940s measure up to today’s understanding of political correctness. Or how we can understand what Donald says? Together with a brief master class in quacking, the audience also receives insight into Donald’s everyday life as well as answers to the question why he wears a sailor’s costume and cap, but never pants. And finally the very first voice for Donald Duck also comes up – the American voice artist Clarence Nash, who quacked, meowed and barked for various characters from the Disney Studio.
