Although animation as it exists today was originally a product of the Industrial Revolution, there are virtually no auteur films dealing with the subject of industry. The few films that do exist, however, are of an exceptionally high standard. As they generally have a critical tone, the programme also contains a few commissioned films with more enthusiastic portrayals of industry.
