Summer Ghost

Summer Ghost

Three teenagers – Tomoya, Aoi and Ryou – arrange to meet on the internet to learn more about an urban legend. According to the legend, setting off fireworks at an abandoned airfield summons a spirit that can answer their every question. And they have their own share of these, because the three struggle with their personal destinies for different reasons: Tomoya is creative and feels crushed by the high expectations of the academic career forced upon him; Aoi is a meek girl relentlessly bullied by her classmates; and the former basketball star Ryou has to give up his passion after a bleak diagnosis. When the three light a sparkler, they discover they have something in common – the ability to see the legendary Summer Ghost: Ayane, a young woman, appears to them, revealing that she is only visible to those “who are about to feel their death”.

After sharing their experience, Tomoya, Aoi and Ryou return home, but Tomoya soon begins to visit the airfield alone. The mystery of Ayane won’t let him go and he is determined to find out more. Ayane’s story will change Tomoya, Aoi and Ryou’s view of their own lives forever.
