Contemporary Danish animation occupies a leading role in the world of animated film, both in terms of its production value and sheer imagination. Building on a rich legacy, it demonstrates both skilled craftsmanship and innovation. This year, Fantoche will be shining a light on Denmark and presenting a series of highlights, blending current trends and their sources of inspiration: thematic film compilations and dedicated programmes showcase works by grand masters, young talent and key figures. Danish animation is known in the industry for feature film co-productions for children – here is an opportunity to explore other aspects, namely independent works for adult audiences.
