The eighth edition of the festival’s “Industry Day” is all about building bridges: The aim is to share issues that previously seemed inaccessible with the animation professionals. Local and international guest will present their experiences, views and ideas on taking animated film further.
Retrospective: Michaela Pavlátová
In 2021, Michaela Pavlátová’s animated feature debut «My Sunny Maad» was released. Her cleverly written shorts have already garnered prestigious festival awards and nominations, and she is currently one of the strongest voices of modern animation. This retrospective includes some of her finest shorts and her feature film. So don’t miss it: Kino Sterk 1 at 12:15 and her feature-length film afterwards at 14:15!
Making Of «Bob Spit – We Do Not Like People»
At 16:15 at Kino Sterk 1, the Making Of of “Bob Spit - We Do Not Like People” will take place in the presence of Cesar Cabral (director) and Ivan Mielo (producer). The road movie, inspired by the life and work of the Brazilian cartoonist Angeli, is a clever mix of fiction and documentary. Cesar Cabral’s edgy stop-motion film has won several awards and will be shown afterwards at 18:30, also at Kino Sterk 1.
Podium «Krisen im Comic» at Gluri Suter Huus
At 17:00 the Podium “Krisen im Comic” is happening at Galerie im Gluri Suter Huus. Two authors will join a panel discussion on the process of transforming personal experiences into literature. It’s also a great opportunity to check out the exhibition «Overcoming Biographies?»! Edition Moderne presents a selection of graphic novels about crises and crisis response in biographical works.
