Martin Bürgin

Martin Bürgin (*1984) is a historian, scholar of the study of religions and film curator. He worked on research projects at the universities of Basel, Bern and Zurich, was a fellow at the Leo Baeck Institute in London and a visiting scholar at the Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yaffo and Tel Aviv University. In 2015, he launched «royalscandalcinema», a ten-and-a-half-year film and lecture cycle that uses individual films to examine the history of scandalization processes around film and cinema. In connection with «royalscandalcinema», he was a guest curator at the Luststreifen Film Festival Basel, at the Zurich Pornydays and at Fantoche.
