Robert Löbel

Robert Löbel (*1984) is the co-founder of the Klimpa animation collective, combining 2D animations with stop-motion to create a handmade, colourful and abstract style. His animated films “Wind”, “Link” and “Island” have won multiple awards at international festivals. Löbel makes short films featuring expressive characters with humorous storytelling and a metaphorical visual language. Löbel also hosts the “Trickfilmforscher” podcast,  which aims to take a closer look at the independent animation scene. Löbel lives near Berlin and works as a freelance animator and illustrator. He has also taught animation at Wismar University since 2018.
