Focus the Balkans

The complex, polyphonic and sometimes traumatic past and present of the Balkan states is also reflected in their animated films. The country spotlight on the Balkans examines the historic development of the nations’ animation scene as well as the latest work to emerge from there in five curated programmes. Current works from animators and experimental films inspired by contemporary art are set to be shown. In the children’s programme, timeless classics will be shown alongside new films.
