Zagreb School of Animation – An Incomplete Introduction

With its minimalist style and satirical social commentary, the work of filmmakers from Zagreb has had a major influence on the international animation scene. After a groundbreaking screening at Cannes in 1958, film critic Georges Sadoul dubbed the movement the “Zagreb School of Animation”. It has occupied a special place in the history of animated film ever since.
