Swiss Competition 2

Ninety-four Swiss productions were submitted in 2022, significantly more than in the previous two years. Indeed, a strong indication that Switzerland’s animation industry has recovered well after the pandemic. The 21 works chosen by the selection team prove once again that on no account do domestic productions need to shy away from being compared with international competition.

The common denominator among the otherwise very divergent films screened in this competition is their intricate examination of such topics as identity and the past. The search for one’s own identity in an uncertain time reflects the burning questions of our everyday life in a poignant manner that only animated film can create.
